“THE ORIGINAL AND STILL THE BEST” —EMS Magazine

Twenty-three years after publication, the EMS Field Guide remains the most widely-used reference in EMS history. Carried in the pockets, phones and emergency vehicles of millions of first responders, this is the guide EMS Magazine calls “the original and still the best.”

The EMS Field Guide app puts critical information at your fingertips with rich content, detailed illustrations and pioneering features. This app is available in two editions— Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic & Intermediate Life Support (BLS)—designed specifically to correspond with each tier of EMT certification and practice, so you know you have the right tool for your job.

The Advanced Life Support (ALS) app equips the Paramedic or EMT-P to triage and address trauma. It provides fast, easy access to vital assessment information, medications, and drug doses; quick interpretation of 12-Lead EKGs; and the latest CPR and ACLS algorithms from the American Heart Association (AHA). The ALS app is also suitable for Intermediates whose practice orders require a more detailed understanding of these topics.

Pros and cons of EMS ALS Guide app for iPhone and iPad

EMS ALS Guide app good for

This app make work just that much easier!! Highly recommended!!!
Very easy to use and has most of the drugs that are utilized on ground ambulance. Good layout and lots of useful tools like a drug interaction chart. Hopefully more drugs are added in the next update like nor-epi, propofol, plavix, etc.
Must have for medics. I love it and the price. The layout is very easy to use. Great reference tool!!!!!
Great layout and makes a great study guide as well. Definitely recommend
I dont leave home with out this! I love it, so worth the money!!
This is a very helpful app that one can take anywhere in the field. Very informative and it takes you through the steps of every situation that may occur. With that said, maybe the developers can incorporate ITLS in this app or make a whole new app that covers ITLS. Good job and keep us Firefighters and EMS in tune with the ever changing medical world.

Some bad moments

Sadly it just doesnt work.... glad I still have the spiral flip one!
You cannot resize the pictures or drawings. Does not support landscape mode. Will not work on iPad.
I had the original ALS guide until you added an update. Now it wont update, tried deleting it several times and reinstalling. Keep getting error unable to download
I purchased this app last year and i accidentally deleted it and now i cant download it again keeps saying no longer available.
The recent update doesnt allow me to get in to the topics section at all! This is the most important section of the app. It shows a black screen! Unreliable when you need it the most! Had to use a secondary app to look up a med. It was great before. Now not worth a cent!
I am a firefighter paramedic for a major city, and I use to love this app because it would confirm what I was rusty on, like ped dosages. This new update makes this app worthless to any body. Please go back to the way it was!!!!
